KIA India started the production line today at their all new manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh. This one is their 15th manufacturing plant in the world and it has annual production capacity of 3,00,000 cars. The first KIA car to come out of the production line will be the compact SUV ‘Kia SP’ which was unveiled in India at Auto Expo in year 2018. The market launch of the car is expected by July 2019. The trial production ceremony was inaugurated by State’s CM Mr. Chandrababu Naidu who was also seen taking short ride in an all new car, but camouflaged, at the company’s in-house test track.
Looking at the KIA’s quality offerings across the world markets, they are expected to penetrate sharply into the Indian market and with Hyundai’s DNA, they will come at par with them in terms of after sales service and support. Their strong product portfolio of cars catering to all segments and their foray into fast emerging electric vehicles class would definitely find place in hearts of Indian customers. Interesting times for Indian automotive industry ahead.
